Student Guidelines
1) Have all class-related materials ready before class (including textbooks, notebooks, dictionaries, pens/pencils, erasers, and supplemental materials such as handouts).
2) Arrive to class on time. Be seated before the time class begins.
3) Remain in class until excused by your instructor. Do not walk out to use the restroom or talk to a friend outside. If leaving class is necessary, ask the instructor for permission.
4) Pay attention at all times. Listen to your teachers and follow their directions.
5) If you have a question or comment in class, please raise your hand and wait for your teacher to call on you.
6) Speak only at your instructor’s request. Do not chat on the side. This is disrespectful.
7) Use only English in class. Do not speak your native language unless you have permission from your teacher.
8) Take tests and quizzes at the time they are scheduled by the instructor (individual instructors may or may not permit make-up exams).
9) Have all your homework completed before class starts. Be ready to show your homework to your teacher as you walk in to class.
10) Do all of your own work on tests and homework. Do not look at your classmates’ papers.
11) Never takes pictures of tests or exams. This is considered cheating.
12) Schedule an appointment with your teacher during his/her office hours to ask extra questions or receive extra help.
13) Do not eat or drink inside the classrooms, unless your teacher gives you permission.
14) Do not use your mobile device in class. Mobile devices (cell phones, iPhones, Blackberries, etc.) must be silenced and placed in your bag during class.
15) Keep classrooms, walkways, lounges, restrooms, building entrances, and patios clean. Throw trash in their appropriate containers.
